Dressed in period clothing, Matthew takes listeners back in time to fascinating periods of American history, using songs and stories (humorous and poignant) he will show what it was like to be one of the canal diggers, blasters and workmen or canal boatman, lock tenders or mule drivers, canal wife or child in old canal day.

Shanachians

December 14, 2007

Welcome to some of the best Irish music outside of Ireland (or inside, for that matter). Rich Dodson plays fiddle, guitar, tenor banjo (Irish version), mandolin, and several other string things. Dave (Mitch) Miller adds another fiddle, as well as bodhran, to the mix. Ken Purcell does melody and bass on the keyboards, as well as tin whistle. Laura Murphy adds her incredible voice to the instruments, as do the other three members of the group.

Phyllis Heil

April 11, 2008

Phyllis is 2005, 2006 and 2007 International Whistling Entertainer of the Year and has won the Grand Championship 3rd place in both 2004 and 2005. She's even appeared on Jay Leno. According to one fan: "If you didn't know she was whistling, you would believe she was playing an instrument of some kind .... really impressive."

The Druckenmillers

January 11, 2008

Probably the best family folk band in the greater Lehigh Valley, and even further, these people will take you back to the "good old days." Picture yourself on your neighbors back porch, or the annual church picnic, or that old time festival you heard so much about. Listen to all those strings played with different tones, in different styles, and on different instruments. Join Tom, Betty and Nathan for some family fun.

Ken Gehret & Henry Koretski

May 9, 2008

Back again, but this time he's not alone. This time Ken will play Fiddle, Banjo and Guitar - and Henry Koretski will play Guitar and Hammer Dulcimer. So you will hear various combinations of traditional instruments playing all types of traditional music. From FOLK to COUNTRY to BALLADS to BLUEGRASS.
